- Jonathan, as someone who retired with 37 years with the government, I beg to differ. Sure, in the old days she could take sick leave BUT the minute she runs out of leave, the powers that be can go to work on firing you. Trust me--I've been involved in the firing of several government workers.

- i'm sure the rampant spread of mandatory drug testing for everything including flipping burgers at McDonald's is due to someone who started up a drug testing company and had to drum up business. Same for our prison system being overtaken by private companies.

- Yes. And, of course, this isn't really about stand your ground any more than the incident in Florida was about stand your ground. But no one jumped to the conclusion that Zimmerman was/is a "wack" and now the right is attempting to defend his specious claim of self -defense.

- The shooter was standing her ground. It happened in Texas, after all. But since the shooter is black, Stand Your Ground obviously won't be applicable.
